Meet Kira

Kira Oxley is the founder of Sugar Coated, a thriving beauty business based in the Tri-Cities since 2016. With a deep passion for both beauty and community development, Kira has built a brand that not only offers exceptional beauty services but also fosters a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all clients.

Before venturing into the world of beauty, Kira had a successful career in banking, which shaped her understanding of business and customer service. Today, Kira combines her entrepreneurial spirit and expertise in the beauty industry to offer the highest standards of care, ensuring every client leaves feeling confident and pampered. Her dedication to both her craft and the community has made Sugar Coated a trusted name in local beauty.

Outside the realm of business development, I cherish moments spent outdoors with my son Royce, my partner Saul, and his two children; weaving together our little blended family. We also have a unique dog named Mario, an unusual but charming mix of boxer and poodle. My leisure activities include traveling to Europe, indulging in spa days, pranking my family members, and immersing myself in the world of literature, with Colleen Hoover being my author of choice. Who knows? Perhaps in the future, I might pen my own novel, weaving together my own version of a happily ever after. 

Kira Oxley’s journey into the beauty industry is an inspiring tale of transformation and passion. Originally a banker, Kira made the bold decision to pivot and follow her true calling — the beauty industry. She wanted to combine her love for aesthetics with her entrepreneurial mindset, so she took a leap of faith and launched Sugar Coated in 2016.

Leaving behind a stable career in banking in 2019, Kira immersed herself in learning everything about beauty services and skin care. It wasn’t an easy journey, but her passion, dedication, and commitment to serving her community drove her success. Today, Kira’s transformation into a beauty expert is a testament to the power of following your passion, no matter where life takes you. 

Supporting Local Charities

Kira's dedication to helping others goes beyond the beauty world. She’s deeply involved in community development and has supported various local charities. Some of the organizations close to her heart include:

• Brothers and Sisters Foundation: Kira sponsors the annual Brothers and Sisters Golf Tournament, helping to raise funds for mentorship in our community and domestic violence. 
• Passion for Fashion: This initiative supports the fight against domestic violence, an issue that Kira is deeply passionate about.
• Mamas for Mamas: Kira actively supports this organization that helps women and children in need.
• Cancer Survivors: Sugar Coated has offered free professional services, like permanent makeup, to local women who have overcome cancer and lost their hair.

Kira’s focus on community is a fundamental part of her vision, and she strives to make a positive difference wherever she can.  Kira is excited to expand her skills in permanent makeup (PMU) to help breast cancer survivors by offering areola tattooing. Stay tuned for more updates!

Her first piece of artwork in her first Sugar Coated studio was a painting that read "Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful" a mantra that resonated deeply with her. Kira has always valued staying original, coming up with her own trends and leading ideas. In fact, she had this phrase tattooed on her hip when she was 28 years old, a personal reminder of the importance of embracing individuality and confidence. 

Kira's holistic approach to beauty and self-care promotes natural, healthy treatments that benefit both the skin and the soul. From organic skincare to rejuvenating facials, Kira encourages her clients to embrace their best selves through self-care rituals that are tailored to their individual needs. 

Kira is always eager to collaborate with like-minded, supportive men and women in the beauty and wellness industry. She understands the power of community and believes in keeping things light, fun, and creative. Through collaborations, Kira continues to build strong relationships that support both her business and the people she works with.
